Continuing care assistants work with the nursing and hospital staff to provide basic care. They are patient’s go-to person for care or comforting. They provide a presence the patient can count on when their family is not there.

Daily tasks
- Manage the patient at the time of their admission and while in the facility
- Monitor the patient’s health status, such as blood pressure, pulse, breathing, etc.
- Meet with patients regularly to work with them
- Use, supervise and maintain various medical equipment.
- Fill in patients’ medical charts and progress made
- Ensure patient safety at all times
